I don't want to deflate any new writers out there, but in my experience not all fellow writers are out there to help each other out with the craft and career. In fact, there is a fair amount of them who might seem like they want to be of assistance, but in reality they're at best just wanting to get themselves ahead, and at worst they are looking to tear down other writers.

I started my author's blog about six years ago. When I set out, my idea of what blogging as a full-time writer would be like was a little foggy. Over time, I've felt my way around, stumbled, found sure footing, stumbled and finally have gotten to the point that I feel like I've started to figure things out. My pathway toward becoming a well-fed writer hasn't been an easy one, but in my experience that's just how writing and a lot of other jobs go.
